Что я делаю?

Lately I’ve been reading Symmetry, by Hermann Weyl, and even more recently I learned that his name is pronounced “vile”. He worked in group theory, and has a group named after him: the Weyl (or depending on how you feel about it, vile) group. He talks a lot about the kinds of discrete symmetries displayed in crystal structures. Even though I’m usually interested in continuous symmetries, a la Sophus Lie (pronounced “Lee”), it’s nice to read about those “other” symmetries for a change.

Pleven displays at least one kind of symmetry: bilateral.

К черту! Мне не нравится когда говорят о моей симетрии! СОВСЕМ не нравится. Я слишком совершенный!

Pleven, why are you speaking Russian? And who told you you’re perfect?

I think it was that big fat огурчик I swallowed. And you know I was made to be perfect. By you.
